Consumer Answers
When and where is the New England Youth Sports Festival taking place?
The Festival has been postponed from Feb 19-21st 2010 to Feb 25-27th 2011 in the Dana Farber Fieldhouse at Gillette Stadium, in Foxborough, Massachusetts. For directions please visit the stadium’s webpage
How much does it cost to attend the New England Youth Sports Festival?
There are three types of admission tickets:
Adult ($10), for those individuals 18 or older who would like to attend the YSF. Participation in many of the Educational Workshops is included in this price.
Youth Participant ($20) - for those individuals ages 6 -17 who will be pre-registering on-line and participating in up to 3 Skill Zone Clinics. Registration on site at the Festival is $30 for up to 3 Skill Zone Clinics on a space available basis.
Youth Non-participant ($5), for those individuals under 18 who would like to attend the YSF but will not be participating in any Skill Zones. This ticket can be upgraded, for $25, at the on-site registration area of the Field House if a child decides later that s/he would like to participate. Children under the age of 6 are free.
What are the hours of the New England Youth Sports Festival?
The Festival will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 9am to 6pm all three days. Interactive Skill Zones and Educational Workshops are scheduled at various times throughout the 3 days. Please visit the specific pages for these aspects of the Festival to view the schedules: Interactive Skill Zones and Educational Workshops
Where is the best place to park and how much does it cost?
Enter the stadium complex at the P1 entrance coming from the north, or the P8 or P2 entrance coming from the south and follow the signs to the West Clubhouse Lot. Click here for a map showing the parking details. Parking at Gillette Stadium is FREE for the YSF.
Where do I go once I arrive at the stadium?
Park in the West Clubhouse Lot then proceed to the Dana Farber Field House Entrance. Pre-registered youth must check in with their confirmation email and waiver (signed by a parent or legal guardian). You will then receive a wristband for each sport that they are participating in.
What do I need to bring/wear to participate in a Skill Zone?
The most important thing every child who will be participating in a Skill Zone needs to bring with them is the Liability Waiver, signed by their parent or legal guardian. This document will be emailed to you with your registration confirmation after you pre-register on the webpage. You can also print it out by clicking here. Please have this filled out before arriving at the Festival for each child who will be participating. In addition to the waiver, participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing and sneakers. The Skill Zones are located inside the Dana Farber Field House. The surface in the field house is Fieldturf, with a rubber surface for the basketball and ice for hockey (located just outside the field house), so you may bring rubber cleats for the Fieldturf, but they can only be worn on the field. Sneakers/court shoes should be worn on the rubber. Regarding equipment (sticks, balls, etc.) check the details for the individual Skill Zone – there’s a “notes” section that will indicate whether you need to bring your own equipment or equipment will be provided. For the most part all equipment is provided, you do not to bring any sticks, balls, etc.
My son/daughter would like to participate in a Skill Zone. Do I need to purchase a ticket also?
Yes. Children must be accompanied by an adult, who can purchase a non-participant ticket for $10 at the door on the day of the event.
Can my child’s coach/friend’s parent/other adult take him/her to the Festival?
Yes, but please make sure that a parent or legal guardian has completed the Liability Waiver in advance for the child to turn in upon check-in at the YSF. No child will be allowed to participate in a Skill Zone Clinic without a signed waiver. The waiver will be emailed with the registration confirmation after completing the online pre-registration process, but can also be printed out by clicking here.
I’m a coach of a youth team, can I bring my whole team to the Festival?
Yes, but we highly recommend that the players are pre-registered for the Skill Zones, and you must be sure that each player brings the Liability Waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. For more specifics on bringing a group of 10 or more children to the Festival click here.
Will there be concessions available?
Yes, concessions will be available at the Festival offering a variety of food and beverages.
Is there a limit to how many Skill Zones a person can sign up for?
Yes, the child participant admission of $20 ($30 on site) allows that individual child to be registered for up to three (3) Skill Zone Clinics. Each session has a limited number of slots so pre-registration is strongly recommended. Additional clinic sign-ups will be accepted on-site on a space available basis each day of the Festival for an additional cost of $5 per clinic. Additional clinic purchases are only applicable after the purchase of a regular Skill Zone admission ticket.
Do I really need to pre-register for the Skill Zones?
Pre-registration is not required, but strongly recommended! There are a limited number of participants in all Skill Zones clinics. If a particular Skill Zone clinic fills up quickly we may be able to add additional times for it, but only if people take advantage of the pre-registration process. By not pre-registering you run the risk of not being able to participate in any or all of the Skill Zones that you would like to. You pay $20 and save $10 on the admissions and guarantee your child will be in the Skill Zone clinics they want.
Registration is $30 onsite during the festival, and only in the Skill Zone clinics that have space available.
I registered for Skill Zones on Saturday morning and paid for a ticket , but am not going to be able to attend at that time after all. Can I reschedule for another time and/or day or get a refund?
If space is available you can switch the registration to another Skill Zone session by calling BEWI at 781-890-3234 prior to February 18th. No refunds will be issued.
